Washington, DC, October 30, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Defense Strategies Institute’s 4th Annual EOD/IED & Countermine Symposium, occurring on November 7-8, 2016, is now just two weeks away.

The symposium will foster the dialogue to bridge the gaps, assess policies, plans, and programs of priority between industry and the EOD/IED & Countermine community. With representation ranging from explosive ordnance disposal, robotic countermeasures, to managers in the EOD Office, this event will bring together a truly whole-of-government approach to IED defeat.

Keynotes at This Year’s Event Include:

- CAPT Vincent R. Martinez, USN, Commanding Officer, Indian Head EOD Technology Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center will brief on near term and future technology initiatives that support advanced Explosive Ordnance Disposal methods

- COL Jonathan B. Slater, USA, Product Manager Counter Explosive Hazard, PM CCS will discuss detection and neutralization capability updates at Counter Explosive Hazard.

- Jon Young, J8 Division Chief, JIDO will provide perspective on deploying advanced C-IED operations to dominate IED defeat in future operations.

- COL (Ret.) Daniel M. Chartier, USA, Counter-IED and Countermine Portfolio Manager, DoD Unexploded Ordnance Center of Excellence will speak on coordinating UXO RDT&E at the Unexploded Center of Excellence

- LtCol Jamie Wagner, USMC, C-IED Branch Head, FPID, CDD, CD&I to provide remarks on developing effective C-IED and Countermine initiatives at the FPID.
