Floristry Students Prepare for Remembrance Sunday

North Shropshire College floristry Students Prepare for Remembrance Sunday

Oswestry, United Kingdom, November 09, 2016 --(PR.com)-- North Shropshire College’s (NSC) floristry students have been preparing poppy chaplets for Sundays remembrance ceremonies.

“It’s a great way for us to remember the fallen soldiers,” tutor Eileen Avery-Scott commented.

The chaplet is a design from a range of funeral tributes learners have to make to complete a level Two floristry diploma. This design will be formally assessed and has to be completed with in 1 1/2 hours. It is constructed using traditional techniques that includes binding moss onto a frame and wiring all foliage. This is a great time of year to construct this specific design as it can be used for remembrance Sunday. Some students will put them on display in their work place.

For anyone interested in courses at the college there will be twilight taster sessions held on the 9th, 10th and 16th of November at the Oswestry campus.
