Toll Brothers Colorado Takes Steps to Fight Cancer

Denver, CO, November 09, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Toll Brothers Colorado, along with their friends, family and trade partners, took steps to fight cancer by participating in the recent Light the Night Walk for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The Toll Brothers team raised $6,500—more than double the amount raised last year—and the team included one Lymphoma survivor.

Toll Brothers Assistant Project Manager Christopher Ferguson was diagnosed with Lymphoma in November 2015 and began chemo the same month. “Hearing that I had cancer in my twenties was an emotional roller coaster ride but I was not alone in my fight,” he said. “I have to thank my family, my significant other, and the entire Toll Brothers staff for their support. Toll Brothers truly ‘walks the walk’ when it comes to supporting cancer patients.

“I was fortunate that my lymphoma had a very high cure rate thanks to the latest treatment methods,” Ferguson explains. “The funds raised by organizations such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society are largely responsible for funding the research needed to improve and develop treatment techniques. Walking in the Light the Night event was an empowering experience that truly shows we are fighting to help those impacted by cancer.”

More than 1 million people in the U.S. are living with blood cancer. Toll Brothers Project Manager Amanda Nilemo and Executive Assistant Christina Bartelmey served as the co-captains for the Toll Brothers Colorado Fundraising Walk Team which participated for the fifth year. “It’s a fun way to raise money against diseases that hit close to home for so many of us,” explains Nilemo. “We were proud to help the Society further their research advancements that save thousands of lives each year.”
