The Kickstarter campaign will help build and operate a Mobile Shower Service in 5 New York City Boroughs and Long Island. The funds will be used to renovate buses to include shower stalls and washers and dryers where youths can freely and safely take showers. The mobile shower service will join their existing service in Queens, which has been very successful in helping restore dignity to homeless people's lives. The Kickstarter will also produce social enterprise models that will help raise funds and provide jobs and training for the people that HIAI connects and work with, and continue to create relationships with community partners and sponsors that are passionate about helping the non-profit organization end homelessness through innovative projects.

Out The Box Ent. & HIAI estimates that approximately 240 people per week will benefit from the Mobile Shower Service, and will improve their health and livelihood. This is based on current patron statistics and running the service 6 days per week. HIAI will keep records relating to the number of patrons that use the service; with their approximate age and gender. The information provided will be strictly confidential and will be added as relationships improve and more participate in the service. The charity will also work with existing organizations that will help them connect patrons with existing support services leading to pathways out of homelessness and track their journey.

HIAI’s Mobile Shower Service will help to eliminate one of the biggest challenges facing youths living on the streets, which is little to lack of personal hygiene. Many homeless youths shower at shelters and some in public toilet blocks. Youths constantly worry and wonder "Who is around?" or "Am I safe?" The operation of a Mobile Shower Service to meet their immediate needs will not only help improve their health, well-being and restore dignity in the lives of countless youths who are homeless, but also help to keep them protected and safe.
