Cameron Village Holiday Open House is Thursday, November 17 from 5-8 P.M.

Raleigh, NC, November 17, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Thursday, November 17 from 5-8 p.m., the traditional Cameron Village Open House ushers in the holidays. The event is long-established, held annually on the Thursday before Thanksgiving. At 5 p.m., Santa will arrive via Cameron Street past Harris Teeter and will make an immediate right turn into the Village, passing Sugarland Bakery to Uniquities then mid-block to Pier 1 Imports and will turn right to cross Daniels St. and arrive at Meet-Up space (next to Cantina 18 on Daniels St., Block D) at about 5:15 p.m. Visits and photos with Santa are free, personal cameras are welcome for pictures with Santa.

2016 Cameron Village Open House features newly updated decorations and a myriad of attractions and entertainment on every block. Merchants participate in a window decoration contest especially for Open House. Some feature live participants. It's a bit of the big apple right in Raleigh.

The oldest operating Eli HY-5 Ferris wheel in the world will offer shoppers a bird's eye view of the entire Village.This American Classic has been restored to original condition and features twelve traditional seats. The snow sledding hill, with real snow, is always a popular stop for families; it will be located in front of Kristen's. A walk-though, giant snow globe is new this year and offers a terrific photo op--kids appear to be in the snow globe. Aerialists, train ride, horse & carriage ride, stilt walkers, singers, and treats will be located through out the six-block Village.

Shoppers love Open House for the opportunity to receive a free $25 gift certificate with a $100 purchase--it's become a holiday tradition too. Additional parking options - an Uber discount and a trolley shuttle - are available from 5-8 p.m. The trolley park & ride adds 55 additional parking spaces for the evening.
