KantanMT Scoops the Technology Innovation Award at the ISA Software Industry Awards 2016

Company honoured by industry peers as 450 turn out for the Irish Software Association’s annual Award ceremony keynoted by MD of Twitter Ireland Mark Little.

Dublin, Ireland, December 01, 2016 --(PR.com)-- KantanMT, the software technology company based in Dublin, Ireland, was named ISA Technology Innovation Award winner at the annual Irish Software Association (ISA) industry awards last weekend. The event was sponsored by Bank of Ireland, ByrneWallace and Enterprise Ireland.

Language is one of the greatest barriers to successful international trade. To create a global presence and trade successfully across multiple borders and markets, companies must translate their product brochures, web content and service information to their customers’ language.

KantanMT solves the problem of language to help its clients reach international markets faster than their competitors. The company produces language translation software to automate content translation and was the overall winner among five companies shortlisted for the award.

The company’s clients include some of the world's leading brands and language service providers.

The overall award for Digital Technology Company of the Year was won by Movidius, an Irish machine-vision chip maker whose technology gives sight to smart devices, is powering artificial intelligence (AI) in cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) and drone applications by companies like Google, DJI, FLIR, and Lenovo.

Other award winners on the night were LogoGrab, eShopWorld, Storm Technology, Accenture Ireland, Openet, and the Irish Centre for High-End Computing (ICHEC). Karl Flannery, business leader, technology enthusiast and CEO of Storm Technology was named ISA Person of the Year 2016.

Commenting on the win, Tony O’Dowd, KantanMT Founder and Chief Architect, said: “Ireland’s software and digital technology sector continues to expand rapidly with new and innovative business ideas, and the calibre of the finalist companies is a testament to this success. The team here at KantanMT strive to provide our clients with a new and accessible approach to improve global communication, and are delighted that KantanMT has been recognised by the Irish Software Association as a new technology innovation.”

Over 70 of Ireland’s leading software and digital technology firms entered this year’s awards and the winners were announced at an event on Friday in Dublin which was attended by 450 company leaders and national stakeholders from Irish technology companies.

Commenting on the winners, Cronan McNamara Founder and CEO of Creme Global and Chair of the ISA said “I wish to congratulate Movidius on attaining the prestigious accolade of ISA Digital Technology Company of the Year. This year, we received an influx of talented, ambitious and worthy nominations. The quality of entrants proves that Ireland is great location to base and grow a technology company."
