ICH GCP Clinical Research Workshop Report – 12-13th January 2008

Delhi, India, January 30, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Cliniminds organized a two-day ICH GCP Workshop on Clinical Research on 12-13 January. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Harpreet Singh, a former clinical research expert at the University of Alabama, US who recently relocated to India to offer his expertise to the Indian market.

The workshop covered the following topics:
• Current State of the Clinical Research Industry in India
• Fundamentals of Clinical Research
• Ethical Concern and Human Subject Protection
• Regulatory Obligations
• Research Records & Essential Documents
• Adverse Event Reporting
• Conduct, Management & Monitoring of Clinical Trials
• Subject Recruitment & Retention

Prominent speakers from clinical research and pharmaceutical industry shared their experiences and knowledge with the participants on the above topics.

Participants included number of clinicians, investigators, potential investigators, clinical research associates and other clinical research professionals from the leading hospitals, CROs and pharmaceutical companies like Sun Pharma; Ranbaxy; Panacea Biotec; Neeman International, All India Institute of Medical Sciences and other organizations.

At the end of the workshops all participants were evaluated through group discussion and written test.

Dr. Arani Chatterjee, General Manager – Clinical Research, Panacea Biotec awarded the participants with the Certificates and discussed with them the opportunities, challenges and issues faced by the Indian clinical research industry.

The next ICH GCP Workshop on Clinical Research has been scheduled for 9th & 10th February (Saturday and Sunday) at New Delhi.
