)-- Vintage Timbers, Inc. will be featured on this week’s episode of Barnwood Builders on the DIY network. In its fourth season and the networks biggest show, Barnwood Builders travels the country moving old barns and cabins and showcasing the rising stars of the ultra popular reclaimed wood industry. Vintage Timbers was approached by the show about turning some of host Mark Bowe’s wood from the episode into flooring.
“With the popularity and craze surrounding reclaimed flooring, we were honored to be the first company whose floors were ever featured on the show,” says Jamie Shaffer President of Vintage Timbers. “We are blessed to be in an area with a lot of old tobacco and hay barns, which supply us with the material to make an extraordinary product.”
The products that Vintage Timbers produces are shipped all over the US and have won the company accolades in the past. Vintage Timbers was recognized by the Kingsport Office of Small Business Development & Entrepreneurship, with the 2015 Business Excellence Award. According to the company president, Jamie Shaffer, “The awards our company has won were all special, but being approached by a show so well-known in the reclaimed community was a real honor.”
In addition to flooring the company also makes wall paneling, hand-hewn beams and furniture from salvaged structures. Representatives of Vintage Timbers said: “We are able to give our customers something they can’t just go to one of the big box stores and buy. The warmth and history of our products just radiates to our customers. Nothing beats seeing that transfer to the smile on their faces when they see the finished product for the first time.”
The owners Jamie Shaffer, Justin Waycaster, and Danny Anderson are all firefighter paramedics, and natives of Kingsport.
Barnwood Builders airs Sunday, December 18th at 9pm on the DIY Network.
