Penn State Central Texas Chapter Awards Scholarship to Local Student

The Central Texas Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association (PSUCenTex) has selected a promising Penn State sophomore from Hays County, TX for their annual chapter scholarship.

Austin, TX, December 29, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The Central Texas Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association is pleased to announce the recipient of their 2016 Annual PSUCenTex Scholarship. This award provides recognition to outstanding Penn State students from Austin and the surrounding area. Emily Strang, a Hays County native and sophomore at Penn State University Park, will receive a $1000 scholarship for her 2016-2017 tuition.

"I am so incredibly thankful for this opportunity, and I cannot thank the Penn State Central Texas Alumni Chapter enough for helping me accomplish my greatest dreams," said Emily. "I will be thinking of them always as I pursue my path of becoming a physician’s assistant and work hard here at PSU! We are!"

In addition to her studies in Biobehavioral Health, Emily contributes to several groups and associations, including the Red Cross, Global Brigades, Rotary Club, and the premedical Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta. She hopes to continue her education in Physician Assistant school, and the chapter is honored to assist her in reaching that goal.
