Mary’s Center to Launch its 2017 Energy Assistance Program in Prince George’s County

The program will pay up to $500 of energy and gas utilities for needy residents.

Washington, DC, January 11, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Mary’s Center was recently awarded $80,000 by the Pepco Holdings, Inc. Community Foundation Energy Assistance Program to help residents in Prince George’s County who are experiencing financial hardship to pay for their electric and/or gas bills.

Since Pepco Holdings Inc. started funding this program at Mary’s Center in 2013, the Center has provided $240,000 in assistance to more than 300 families in need.

“Once again, our partnership with Pepco will allow us to alleviate the stress of debt that thousands of Prince George’s County residents experience every year,” says Maria Gomez, Mary’s Center President and CEO. “We look forward to continuing to help more families in 2017.”

The Energy Assistance Program at Mary‘s Center will pay up to $500 of energy and gas utilities for applicants. To be eligible for the Program, individuals/families must reside in Prince George’s County, meet income requirements, and prove financial hardship.
