Keep Irving Beautiful and Calvary Church Beautify Heritage Park - “Loving Our City” Volunteers Paint Original Library Building

Irving, TX, February 05, 2017 --(PR.com)-- As part of its Faith Groups Outreach Program, Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) teamed with volunteers from Calvary Church for a beautification project at Heritage Park in Downtown Irving on Saturday, January 28. Seven Calvary members, who are part of the “Loving Our City” group, gave 28 hours of service in giving a fresh coat of white paint to the special use building at the park, which was Irving’s first permanent library building. The building is now used as a rental facility for meetings and parties by many families and organizations throughout the year. The Calvary Loving Our City volunteers had previously participated with KIB at the 25th annual Trash Bash in September, where they were one of the largest groups in attendance.

The Parks and Recreation Department provided supplies, technical guidance, and access to the building for the project. Irving Community Television Network (ICTN) was on site to video the activity and interview several of the volunteers as part of a feature story on the upcoming expansion of Heritage Park.

KIB Board member and Faith Groups Co-chair Rachel Moon commented on the collaborative effort by saying, “We are always happy to work with churches and any type of faith group. Calvary has a strong, positive presence in the community, and they are an inspiring group to be around. Their name 'Loving Our City' really says it all and shows how much they care about making Irving a better place to live, work, play and worship.”
