Data For A Cause Challenge

Launched to Help Not-for-Profit Organizations Use Data for Social Change.

New York, NY, February 05, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The Data For a Cause Challenge has been launched to bring together Not-For-Profits (NFPs) and data visualization professionals.

Data visualization is the presentation of data in a graphical format that enables viewers to see information presented visually, so they can grasp difficult concepts and learn new information.

Currently, data visualizations and infographics are mainly used by for-profit businesses. Not-for-profits often lack the time and money for data analysis and visualization. But now, Not-For-Profits have the opportunity to join in the trend, and utilize data visualization – a rapidly evolving blend of science and art.

The Data For A Cause Challenge will continue throughout 2017. All data visualization experts, irrespective of location or experience, are invited. To participate, they are asked to sign up via the website and contribute a data visualization in response to a particular NFP data challenge – after which, the NFPs will evaluate all submissions and announce the winners.

The creators of winning data visualizations will get recognition through their work being shared by NFPs in various social media campaigns and other marketing channels. NFPs, in return, will reap the benefits of data analytics, infographics and data visualizations, all of which are increasingly being regarded as core elements of any successful marketing campaign.

"With data visualization, there’s potential for great opportunities, but many Not-For-Profits are challenged when it comes to this area. They know that data visualization could help them to communicate their story, build awareness and get their message across quickly, but they just don’t have the resources to do it. The challenge was launched with this in mind, and will support NFPs as rising, talented visualizers harness data and its potential, to help them further their cause," says Olga Tsubiks, the organizer of the 2017 Data For a Cause Challenge.
