Expogroup's Annual Power & Energy Africa 2017 Opens in Less Than One Month

Power & Energy Africa 2017 is all set for a record run when it opens its doors from 11-13 April at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre, Nairobi with over 150 local and international delegates confirming participation.

Nairobi, Kenya, March 16, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Kenya’s current electricity demand is 1600MW and is projected to grow to 2600-3600MW by 2020. Despite electricity access in the country being low, the government has ambitious targets of increasing connectivity from the current 15% to at least 65% by 2022.

The 6th Power & Energy Africa is being supported by the Ministry of Energy & Petroleum, Kenya and the East African Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.

Trade visitors at the event will have the opportunity to visit over 150 international and local exhibitors from 22 countries and discuss the latest trends and developments in the power and energy sectors.

Exhibitors at the event include Cepas Galvaniz Demir Celik from Turkey (steel lattice towers, supports and lighting poles), Asbesco (India) Pvt. Ltd. (transmission line hardware fittings and accessories), Rich Motor Company from UAE (diesel generators), Satir Europe from Ireland (infrared cameras), Socomec from France (energy storage systems and load break, transfer switches), Flir Systems from Belgium (high performance thermal imaging systems), Pak Elektron Ltd from Pakistan (transformers, switchgears, meters), Dar Engineering from Saudi Arabia (design engineering & consultancy services) and Baywa R. E. Renewable Energy from Germany (solar modules, inverters, storage systems, mounting systems).

Solar power accounts for less than one per cent of Kenya’s total installed power capacity of 2,400MW, presenting a huge market for investors as the country switches focus to green energy sources. With this shifting focus in mind, Power & Energy Africa will be co located with Solar Africa 2017 - East Africa’s exclusive expo for all things solar.

“We received an overwhelming response from the solar industry that prompted us to launch Solar Africa four years ago. The event has been growing ever since and this year’s event promises to be bigger than ever!” says Max Lewis, Director of Sales, Expogroup.

Delegates will also be able to attend a variety of B2B networking events, aimed at bringing together global suppliers and local dealers to build new professional relationships, strengthen existing ones and source new products.

Power & Energy Africa is organised by Expogroup, which has been organizing some of the largest international trade exhibitions in Africa. Since its inception 20 years ago, Expogroup has organized expos in Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Ghana and Nigeria; showcasing over 500+ companies from around the world and garnering record footfalls at each exhibition.
