AccuWeather.com® Announces Creation of New Leadership Role Following Record-Breaking Increases in Online Usage

Top Weather Provider Reports Site Traffic has Grown Nearly 60 Times Faster than the Internet.

State College, PA, February 07, 2008 --(PR.com)-- In light of its best year ever -- with online traffic increases nearly 60 times greater than average internet growth -- AccuWeather.com today announced the creation of a new leadership role for its free weather web site. Robert Henry has been elevated to the role of General Manager for AccuWeather.com. In this new position he will oversee the strategic development of AccuWeather.com and its membership sites.

"I am pleased to assume a greater level of leadership for AccuWeather.com," said Robert Henry, new General Manager for AccuWeather.com. "We have always focused on providing the most accurate and localized forecasts, the best weather content, and the best user experience available anywhere on the web. In 2008, we intend to further enhance AccuWeather.com with a host of new features that will make it even more valuable and user-friendly."

The decision to expand Robert's role was driven partially by the effective leadership he showed as Director of AccuWeather.com in the 2006-07 redesign of the web site. Site improvements contributed to a page view growth of more than 132% comparing December 2006 to December 2007, according to Neilsen/netRatings. AccuWeather.com's key loyalty measures have grown 75%, demonstrating the loyalty and value that users place on AccuWeather.com forecasts. In addition, all AccuWeather.com membership-based sites, including AccuWeather.com Premium™, AccuWeather.com Professional™, AccuWeather.com RadarPlus™, AccuWeather.com LightningPlus™, AccuWeather.com Transport PRO™, and AccuWeather.com Energy PRO™, are at all-time highs for subscriptions.

Weather information has proven to be one of the most popular and attractive forms of content for audiences and advertisers in all new and traditional media. The internet is no exception to that standard. According to Neilsen/netRatings in 2007, the growth of the weather category grew nearly eleven times faster than the average rate of internet growth. AccuWeather.com has in turn grown more than five times faster than the average for the highly popular weather category, reinforcing their position of leadership as one of the most popular and trusted providers of weather information online.
