Middleburg Heights, OH, April 06, 2017 --(PR.com)-- On March 22, 2017, the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) held an Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. Corporate Screening’s Quality and Compliance Manager, Kevin Neudecker, took part in the event.

The NAPBS represents the interests of more than 850 member companies around the world that offer tenant, employment and background screening. More than 100 individuals representing NAPBS participated at Advocacy Day, holding meetings with Congressional officials, advising and educating legislators on topical issues that affect background screening.

The meetings focused generally on raising awareness about background screening, educating legislators about the important role screening plays in keeping homes and workplaces safe, and building relationships to collectively make a positive difference for the background screening profession.

Neudecker participated in a group that represented Ohio, and met with representatives from the offices of Representatives Fudge and Gibbs, as well as Senator Sherrod Brown. They discussed topics that included the industry focus on accuracy, consumer protection ingrained in the FCRA, the differences between fingerprint searches and court record searches, as well as the industry position on recently introduced legislation related to the EEOC.

2017 marks the third Advocacy Day, which wrapped up the 2017 Mid-Year Legislative and Regulatory Conference in Washington D.C.
