Prism Energy Services’ Wendy Simmons and QCAP’s Beth Ann Strollo Honored as Women of Distinction

Every year, the Woodward School selects two women for the Women of Distinction honor. This year, Prism Energy Services’ president, Wendy Simmons, and Quincy Community Action Programs’ CEO, Beth Ann Strollo, were honored. The award is designed to celebrate women who have strong business achievement and who have contributed greatly to the community.

Quincy, MA, April 13, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The Woodward School is a private school for girls, founded in 1869 by Dr. Ebenezer Woodward. The Women of Distinction award has been an annual tradition of the school for the past eleven years. Walter Hubley, Headmaster at the Woodward School, notes that recipients of the award serve as a role model for the school’s students. Originally, recipients were selected by a committee appointed by the school. Today, former Women of Distinction members meet over the course of several weeks to nominate two candidates, one from the private sector, and one from the public sector.

This year, Prism Energy Services’ Wendy Simmons and QCAP’s Beth Ann Strollo were honored as Women of Distinction. Beth Ann Strollo said on a Quincy Access Television interview, “I was really honored to be selected because the previous recipients are women I really admire, particularly Rosemary Wahlberg, the first honoree. She was my mentor at Quincy Committee Action Programs ... so it feels like quite a distinction to be in her company.” Wendy Simmons said she feels the same way as Ms. Strollo, as former Women of Distinction recipients were her mentors and have become her dear friends. Wendy continues, “It is a particular pleasure and honor for me because my two girls were both students at the Woodward School.”
