Buildexpo Africa 2017: East Africa’s Largest Construction Show Opens Tomorrow

The 20th edition of Buildexpo Kenya is all set for a record run when it opens its doors from 20-22 April at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre, Nairobi with over 300 local and international exhibitors in attendance.

Nairobi, Kenya, April 21, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The event is being supported by the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing & Urban Development, East African Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (EACCIA), National Construction Authority (NCA), Kenya Vision 2030, The Board of Registration of Architect & Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (BORAQS) and the Interior Designers Association of Kenya (IDAK) among others. The main sponsors for the event are Samsung Electronics East Africa.

At Buildexpo Kenya 2017, trade visitors will have the opportunity to visit local and international exhibitors from over 40 countries showcasing the latest equipment, machinery and materials from the building and construction industry.

Some of the innovative products on display at Buildexpo include the latest bathroom & sanitary ware from Kohler Africa (South Africa), ceramic wall & floor tiles from Mikado Technology (Vietnam), power trowels & concrete finishing tools from Beton Trowel (Belgium), reliable props, scaffoldings and formworks from Ferro-met (Italy), crushing & screening equipment from Gujarat Apollo Industries (India), a complete range of construction tools and machinery from Digital City (Kenya) and inventive prefabricated building solutions from ICON (Egypt).

The big wigs of the local Kenyan construction industry will also be present at the event showcasing their wide range of heavy machinery. These include Car & general, New Sky Africa, Tata Africa Holdings, Regal Equipment and Container Technology Limited.

The massive China pavilion at Buildexpo Kenya will comprise a delegation of over 80 companies looking to expand the country’s ever growing presence on the building and construction sector of the region with innovative, cost effective materials, products and services. The event also has a major Indian presence with over 40 Indian companies participating at Buildexpo this year, emphasising the growing interest India is showing in the market of the millennium, Africa.

Apart from these, pavilions from Turkey and Egypt will also be showcasing the best of both countries’ construction sectors at the event.

With the recent tragedies of under-construction building collapses in the region in mind, the theme for this year’s interactive Build Talk conference is the "Role of Modern Technology in Ensuring Safe Infrastructure Development in the East African Region." Leading experts from government institutions make up the speaker panel delivering key notes on the topic.

Delegates will also be able to attend a variety of B2B networking events, aimed at bringing together global suppliers and local dealers to build new professional relationships, strengthen existing ones and discuss the latest trends and products dominating the global construction market.
