Da Vinci Press Announces Geologist-Author of "Tweeting Da Vinci" Ann C. Pizzorusso to Speak at European Geosciences Union Congress in Vienna, Austria

Vienna, Austria, April 25, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Ann C. Pizzorusso, geologist and Italian Renaissance scholar will speak at the European Geosciences Union (EGU) Congress in Vienna, Austria on April 27, 2017. She will discuss Leonardo da Vinci as the father of geology and show many of his accurate geologic sketches and drawings. She will also discuss the two versions of the Virgin of the Rocks, one in the Louvre in Paris and another in the National Gallery in London. She argues that the Louvre version depicts accurate geology which, for paintings by Leonardo, is a key to authenticity.

Pizzorusso has published extensively on Leonardo da Vinci's geologic discoveries and has recently published a prize winning, critically acclaimed book on geology and culture entitled "Tweeting da Vinci" (available in Italian as "Twittando da Vinci"). In it she explores how the geology of Italy influenced its art, literature, medicine, religion, architecture and just about everything else.

About the EGU: The non-profit European Geosciences Union is Europe's premier union of geoscientists. Its congress attracts over 11,800 scientists from over 100 countries each year. The EGU manages a diverse portfolio of open access journals, thematic meetings and outreach and education activities.
