Over 500 girls nominated as “Future Leaders” from over 100 area high schools have been selected to attend this year’s Conference. The day kicks off with a Community Service Project and a keynote speech by former model Audrey Brashich, author of “All Made Up: A Girls Guide to Seeing Through Celebrity Hype and Celebrating Real Beauty,” and her co-presenter, teen coach Courtney Macavinta, a best-selling author of “Respect: A Girls Guide to Getting Respect and Dealing When Your Line is Crossed.”
Participants will choose from 15 workshops on subjects ranging from Goal Setting to Healthy Relationships to Effective Leadership Styles and participate in an interactive Mentor Lunch with over 150 of San Diego’s top women leaders. The Luncheon and workshops will be followed by a dance performance, live music and ice-cream celebration of the day’s accomplishments. The Conference theme for 2008 is on how girls can live their dream and use their voice to make a positive difference in their school, family, friendships and community.
