Omaha Group Turning Regular People Into Authors Publishes 2nd Book

The Alternative Book Club has just published Spotlight on the Art of Resilience--a collaborative non-fiction work intended to help people through life's tests.

Omaha, NE, May 03, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The Alternative Book Club, an Omaha-based group that turns regular people into authors, has published a new book intended to help people get through personal setbacks, trauma, and loss. Spotlight on the Art of Resilience is a collection of the wisdom and experiences of nine individuals who relay powerful lessons on how to thrive despite pain, handicaps, grief, and facing one’s own mortality.

Spotlight on the Art of Resilience is intended to help anyone who is going through one of life’s difficult tests. By reading about the stories of the nine writers, readers will see, feel, and touch the common themes and patterns that enable people to not only survive, but to thrive. With author perspectives covering a wide range of social, economic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds, readers from all walks of life are likely to resonate with the stories.

One excerpt: “There’s a time in everyone’s life when life takes its biggest shot at you. When the thing that scares you the most takes its best shot at you and you get back up, that thing loses its power over you forever.” (Page 210) Spotlight on the Art of Resilience will help get you through life’s biggest tests.

The Alternative Book Club was founded in 2016 as a fresh take on the traditional book club format. Instead of getting together, reading books, and discussing them, The Alternative Book Club meets to discuss ideas and write. Our second title, Spotlight on the Art of Resilience is a follow up to 2016’s Spotlight on the Art of Grace. You can meet the authors on Sunday, May 7, 2017. They will be participating in the local author’s day at the Council Bluffs Public Library from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
