Budapest, Hungary, May 18, 2017 --(PR.com
)-- On 15th August 2017, the tenth anniversary edition of “The Caucasian Challenge” amateur rally will set-off from Istanbul, heading for the picturesque back roads of the Caucasus. Driving 2500 miles through former and current conflict zones, organizers promise participants "misty mountains and mesmerizing beaches, ancient architecture and bustling cities, plus nightly parties with both new friends and the famously hospitable locals."
Organised by experienced explorers and travel professionals the Travel Scientists, the Caucasian Challenge is an amateur, low-budget, minimal assistance rally. Teams of 2-3, from all over the world, driving their vehicles of choice, will experience what is billed as the "ten most thrilling days of their lives" as the adventure tour visits the “often overlooked but fascinating region, packed with history, delicious cuisine, and stunning scenery.”
After leaving Istanbul, teams will drive along Turkey's Black Sea's Coast, before visiting various notable places in Georgia, including coastal Batumi, the capital Tbilisi, and Ushguli, the highest-altitude village in Europe. Participants will then make their way to Armenia, where they will sleep on the shores of Sevan Lake, discover the ancient Tatev monastery and, finally, explore Yerevan.
There is no experience required, but the drivers’ off-road talents will be tested time and again, on every possible type of terrain. The roads range from 8-lane highways to rough and rocky trails while accommodation includes wild camping beside an Alpine lake, in a traditional mountain guest-house or a fancy modern city hotel. Participants must rely on their own endurance, ingenuity, teamwork and luck to make it to the finish line. Organizers say that "the emphasis is on discovery and having a great time instead of setting any land speed records."
Various packages cater to every budget and adventure level – from basic rally entrance to all-inclusive which includes car and accommodation.
