New York, NY, February 23, 2006 --(PR.com)-- The Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO), will co-host the WPO Springboard Private Equity Capital Workshop in conjunction with the 2006 Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration. The workshop is designed for second and later-stage women-owned and led companies with revenues exceeding $5 million looking for funding for growth or acquisitions, interested in recapitalization, or looking to purchase a company with an equity sponsor. Participants will discuss financing options, control (use it or lose it), when recapitalization is an option, how to facilitate a management buyout and evaluating acquisitions. WPO Charlotte Chapter member Julie Garella will facilitate the workshop.

Garella is co-founder of McColl Garella, LLC, an investment banking company dedicated to women owned and operated businesses. Garella serves on the board of directors for the Center of Women’s Business Research, the National Board of the Women’s Leadership Exchange, the board of directors for the Women’s Impact Fund and the board of directors for the North Carolina Citizens for Business & Industry.

“Springboard and the WPO have worked hard to provide workshop attendees with substantive take-aways and access to experts in a private equity,” said Marsha Firestone, Ph.D., president and founder of the WPO. “We are proud to co-host such a high-quality educational experience.”
