Seattle, WA, July 04, 2017 --(PR.com)-- TANGIBLE IP, LLC, an international patent brokerage and Intellectual Property advisory firm headquartered in Seattle, with offices in San Francisco and Montreal, announced that it had successfully brokered the sale of a patent portfolio in the Critical Notification and Information Management Systems comprising of five patents. The identity of the parties and the financials of the agreement were not disclosed.

“We are a small technology company that had developed some interesting IP over the years that we wanted to leverage in order to raise non-dilutive funds,” said the seller. “Since we know that this is a tough market environment and you only get one shot at it, we asked people knowledgeable in the industry for a trustworthy broker and we were referred to Tangible IP to help us monetize our patent portfolio. The Tangible IP team did a masterful job understanding our patents and underlying technology, and presenting this opportunity in a compelling way to prospective buyers through very detailed materials. As a result, they were able to attract offers for our patent assets and they skillfully and professionally advocated for us in negotiating the price and license grant back terms. We can now operate our company pretty much the way we were before while being able to reinvest new funds in our development activities. We really feel that Louis Carbonneau and his team had our back all along and they did not stop their diligent work until the deal had been fully consummated. I would recommend them to anyone else without any hesitation.”

“Patents represent innovations that can be contributed positively to the industry by their inventors while they can continue to commercialize them,” said Tangible IP Founder & CEO Louis Carbonneau. “This does not have to be a zero-sum game and valuable assets can be deployed broadly for their fair value. We are pleased that we could build a strong case of these patents and attract offers for this high-quality portfolio, and work with the buyer until we could close this transaction for our client. There are several patents out there like these that are practiced by several industry players and can be monetized successfully without the need for expensive and risky litigation. This is a model better adapted these days than a long and uncertain assertion campaign and we are happy to have brokered this sale, our fourth transaction this year.”

Tangible IP, LLC specializes in selling high-quality unencumbered patents and has now brokered the sale of well over 2000 patent assets since its inception and has returned tens of millions of dollars back to inventors, shareholders and patent owners.
