Worcester, MA, February 25, 2008 --(PR.com)-- One (dance) step closer to kick off for New England Surge Professional Indoor Football Team’s second season.

As the New England Surge of the Continental Indoor Football League, (CIFL), ramps up for their second season of fast-paced, high-impact professional indoor football, the PowerSurge Dance Team start working on their dance routine in preparation for the home opener on April 20, 2008 at the DCU Center.

It took two open auditions looking at many, many participants for Karen Chevailer, PowerSurge Director to finalize her dance team of 10. Chevalier states, “I am so thrilled with the caliber of women who auditioned and finally made the cut for the PowerSurge Dance Team. Most of them are award winning dancers, have performed in many productions, and/or currently instruct at local dance studios.”

The talent pool consists of women such as Tiffany Walls a Worcester resident who is a pre-med senior student specializing in forensic pathology at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Walls a trained dancer, also graduated from Burncoat High School where she was a member of both the Dance Team and the Dance Ensemble. Due to her busy academic schedule, serving as President of the WPI Dance Team and working as an instructor at Nola Borrelli’s Dance Studio, she will be a PowerSurge alternate. The names and profile of all the10-member finalists are also listed below.

The Power Surge was a big hit last year and this year they promise to be even better. Karen Chevalier took over as Director for the Surge’s second season after serving as Dance Consultant in the Surge’s inaugural season. In addition, Chevalier brings extensive professional training and dance experience to her new role as Director. She serves as a dance instructor at JoAnn Warren Studio in Worcester and was one of the original members of the 1994 Mass Marauder Magic dance team of the ArenaFootball League. She is very excited about being able to have the PowerSurge’s dance routines come to life in front of thousands of fans as the dance team performs in its second season.

Roy Lucas, Jr. Owner and Head Coach for the New England Surge states, “Combining the athletic experience of the pool of players that were picked from the recent football tryout (that augments our current football team), and the exciting routines that Karen’s talented dancers will be performing, I am confident that the fans will be provided with very exciting, fast paced football again this year that will make it hard to stay in your seats.”
