Florida Outreach Center for the Blind, Inc. Receives Grant from the 2017 Honda Classic

Florida Outreach Center for the Blind, Inc. of Palm Springs, Florida, is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of a $3,500 grant awarded on behalf of American Honda and the Board of Directors of Children’s Healthcare Charity, Inc. from the 2017 Honda Classic. This grant will be used to support the Kids’ Club, an outreach program for blind and visually impaired children and their families.

This grant will be used to support the Kids’ Club, an outreach program for blind and visually impaired children and their families.

Florida Outreach Center for the Blind, Inc. was established in 2003 by Carolyn Lapp, with the mission to develop and administer programs that will integrate blind and visually-impaired persons into the social, economic, and spiritual lives of their community.

Over 29,032 individuals in Palm Beach County are blind or have severe vision loss. Florida Outreach Center for the Blind offers education and training classes, at no cost, in English, Spanish, French and Creole. Individualized classes in independent living, Braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology teach the skills needed for blind and visually impaired individuals to maintain their independence health, safety, and enjoy an improved quality of life.
