American Law Society Recognizes the Honorable Richard L. Gabriel

The American Law Society Board of Directors is proud to announce that the Honorable Richard L. Gabriel has been accepted as a new member with ATL distinction. The America's Top Lawyers list is comprised of well-rounded individuals representing a diverse cross-section of U.S. legal advocates.

Denver, CO, September 12, 2017 --( On June 23, 2015, Governor John Hickenlooper appointed the Honorable Richard L. Gabriel to the Colorado Supreme Court. Justice Gabriel served on the Colorado Court of Appeals from 2008-2015; he operated his private practice, which focused on commercial, intellectual property, probate, and products liability litigation, all including appeals from 1988-2008; and he served as both Partner (1994-2008) and Associate (1990-94) for Holme Roberts & Owen LLP, Denver, CO.

Justice Gabriel’s many honors include: Champion for Children, Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center (1997); Forty Under 40, Denver Business Journal (2002); Richard Marden Davis Award, Denver Bar Foundation (2002); Colorado Super Lawyer (2007-08); Chambers’ Leading Lawyers for Business (2007-08); Intellectual Property Lawyer of the Year, Law Week Colorado (2007); Named as a Lawyer of the Year, Lawyers USA (2007); Denver Bar Association Award of Merit (2014).

Consistent with his illustrious career, Justice Gabriel’s civic engagements are impressive, as are his publications, and education. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in American studies from Yale University in 1984, graduating cum laude. Thereafter, he earned his Juris Doctor from the Pennsylvania School of Law in 1987, where he was the articles editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review from 1986-87, and the winner of the Keedy Cup Moot Court Competition (1987).

American Law Society's Board of Directors selectively chooses lawyers who show a history of greatness and consistency. It is a privilege to have the Honorable Richard L. Gabriel join the organization.
