CrossFit HighGear Finishes on the Podium at The Granite Games

CrossFit HighGear in Medina Ohio finishes 1st and 3rd at The Granite Games in St. Cloud Minnesota.

Medina, OH, September 15, 2017 --(PR.com)-- CrossFit HighGear on 5035 Beach Road in Medina took first and third places at The Granite Games held in Minnesota on Sept 8,9, 10. The popular CrossFit competition hosted over 2,000 athletes from 10 different countries. The local box, CrossFit HighGear, sent 2 teams and an individual to represent them after they qualified by beating out hundreds of other athletes in the Online Qualifier.

Team CrossFit HighGear Thundar walked away with a first place finish in the Men’s As Rx division worldwide. They beat out thousands of other competitors for a spot at The Granite Games and beat out 29 other teams over the weekend. Tom Karos (owner of CrossFit HighGear), Grant Fairhurst, and David Berger competed in 7 events over the weekend and accummulated the most points in their division leading them to the top of the podium.

Team Beast Mode Barbelles, also from CrossFit HighGear, entered the weekend in 26th place and jumped ahead 16 points for a 10th place finish. The team comprised of Rachel Heflen, Jess Brady and Michalla Gordon went in with no expectations and surprised themselves with a top 10 finish.

In the individual division, Heidi Bogue (owner of CrossFit HighGear) competed in the 45-49 year old Women’s Masters Division. She qualified to compete by placing 4th in the online qualifier among 900 other women. In Saint Cloud Minnesota, Bogue competed in 7 events and ended the weekend by placing 3rd overall in the competition. “I entered the Granite Games to see if I would enjoy competing individually instead of on a team. As it turns out, I had a great time! All the women in my division were amazingly supportive of each other and we all had a wonderful experience!”

CrossFit HighGear is now 2 years old and has over 270 members. Owners Karos and Bogue along with their team of 17 coaches and admin staff are passionate about helping people get healthier and more fit.
