YWCA Tampa Bay to Host “Women of Color Leading Change” Event for Annual Stand Against Racism Campaign

St. Petersburg, FL, September 16, 2017 --(PR.com)-- YWCA Tampa Bay will host “Women of Color Leading Change,” an event that will celebrate women of color from various sectors and explore solutions to the barriers women of color face. This event is the focal point of YWCA Tampa Bay’s signature annual Stand Against Racism campaign. The goal is to build community among those who work for racial justice and educate the greater community about racism and how to defeat it.

“Women of Color Leading Change is a call to action for all of us in the Tampa Bay area who are outraged by the recent hostility and intolerance we have witnessed in our nation,” says YWCA President and CEO, Yvonne Ulmer. “It is an opportunity for us to come together in solidarity and support of our brothers and sisters regardless of color, religion, or sexual orientation.”

The “Women of Color Leading Change” Event will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2017, 5:30pm-7:30pm in the University of South Florida St. Petersburg’s University Student Center Ballroom, 200 6th Ave S, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
