Samepage Health Announces Launch of BHI Plus™ to Help Primary Care Providers Quickly and Effectively Take Advantage of New Collaborative Care G-Codes

Samepage’s tech-enabled solution provides the training, implementation support, and software necessary to deploy their evidence-based method for behavior-based care management that is proven to improve outcomes and ROI.

Seattle, WA, September 26, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Samepage Health, a pioneer in the collaborative care space, is bringing to market a turnkey solution that enables primary care providers to begin delivering on behavioral health integration strategies immediately. BHI Plus™ supports an enhancement to “usual” primary care by adding two key services required by new reimbursement codes: (1) care management support for patients receiving behavioral health treatment, and, (2) regular psychiatric inter-specialty consultation to the primary care team. The solution includes an evidence-based method developed by collaborative care leaders, specialized training for care managers and psychiatric consultants, and guided patented clinical tools that support standardization, treatment fidelity, measurement, and reporting.

Dr. Paul Ciechanowski, Samepage founder and Chief Medical Officer explains it this way, “Integrating behavioral health care (“BHI”) into primary care is now widely considered an effective strategy for improving outcomes for the 30 million+ Americans with both behavioral and medical health conditions. Unfortunately, the healthcare world has been slow to act and silos persist - typically due to limited access to psychiatric resources, lack of skills, and poor reimbursement models. I have spent decades with my University of Washington colleagues researching and developing a collaborative care method that delivers efficient BHI. Now, with many years of experience deploying the method at ACOs and large health systems, Samepage is thrilled to bring a well-tested, proven solution to a broader audience, enabling primary care providers to quickly transform to deliver this much needed service.”

While the healthcare system remains predominantly siloed, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is now working to incentivize behavioral health integration with new reimbursement codes (G0502, G0503, G0504). “Samepage has always been about breaking down silos and treating the whole patient,” says Samepage CEO Rebecca Norlander, “With the launch of new reimbursement models that support collaborative care, we are ready to help practices transform quickly and efficiently so they can improve patient care while being adequately compensated.”

According to Linda Keenan, Ph.D, M.P.A., B.S.N., RN-BC, NMCC and System Executive Director Care Management for University of North Carolina, “Samepage has done an impressive job developing a platform and service that assists ACOs and various Alternative Payment Models in their quest to improve their support of complex patients with depression and medical co-morbidities. Such services facilitate an effective solution for enhancing the capture of required clinical billing elements, resulting in compliance with the new G-Code requirements."

Samepage is actively seeking additional partners to test and deploy BHI Plus™.
