)-- Would you like to be part of an event that benefits the more than 60,000 people in our community living with mental illness? NAMI Sarasota County, an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is hosting its first ever fundraising and awareness event on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. The event, appropriately called, Out of the Blue, brings together more than 100 local businesses to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness. More than two hundred concerned citizens will be in attendance. Doreen Sutherland, chair of Out of the Blue says, “The event is casual, so patrons can come directly from work. The ticket price is low, at $25, so that as many people as possible can participate.”
Patrons will by entertained by local band, Rallo Pucci and Pam McCurdy, owner of McCurdy’s Comedy Theatre. Beer and wine will be served and attendees receive two free drinks. An excellent array of savory appetizers has been donated by Simply Gourmet and will be prepared on site. A raffle and silent auction which includes more than 100 items features a 1959 reissued Fender bass guitar signed especially for Out of the Blue by rock and roll great, Bob Seger and ten of the members of the Silver Bullet Band.
NAMI Sarasota County invites everyone to participate in this important event taking place at Sarasota Architectural Salvage, 1093 Central Avenue. SAS is brimming with fascinating items that attendees will have an opportunity to view and purchase.
