NABCEP Offers Free Exam Rescheduling for Those Affected by Recent Natural Disasters and the Shooting in Las Vegas

Clifton Park, NY, October 14, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) announces its plan to help individuals affected by recent natural disasters and national tragedies who scheduled to take one of NABCEP’s upcoming certification exams. Anyone who scheduled to take one of NABCEP’s Certification exams on October 21, 2017, and lives in an area that was impacted by the recent hurricanes and wildfires, or was directly affected by the shooting in Las Vegas, will be able to reschedule their exam for free. This offer includes first responders, second responders, and relief workers who scheduled to take a NABCEP certification exam and are critical to disaster response and recovery efforts. Individuals who traveled to the affected areas to install or repair renewable energy systems are also able to reschedule their NABCEP examination at no cost.

“In recognition of the millions of Americans affected by the devastation of hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, the numerous wildfires in the west, and the havoc in Las Vegas, any individual affected by these events who scheduled to take a NABCEP Certification Exam in October 2017 will be able to reschedule without paying any of the standard rescheduling fees,” said Shawn O’Brien, NABCEP’s Executive Director. “This includes those living in the affected areas but also relief workers from FEMA, the U.S. armed forces, the national guard, the police, EMTs, firefighters, and wonderful organizations like the American Red Cross, SBP, the United Way, and many others. We also can’t forget the men and women who have traveled to these areas to install, maintain, and repair renewable energy systems that will help bring the power back to people experiencing power shortages and outages. Without these brave and dedicated people, the impacted communities wouldn’t be able to begin to heal from such immense tragedies.”

NABCEP currently offers its certification exams twice per year for hundreds of professionals in the renewable energy industry. NABCEP’s certification exams include Photovoltaic Installation Professional (PVIP), Photovoltaic Technical Sales (PVTS), and Solar Heating Installer (SHI). There are currently over 23,000 individuals in North America that have earned a NABCEP Professional Certification, NABCEP Associate Credential, or NABCEP Entry Level Achievement Award.

Those affected should contact Melissa Bell at mbell@nabcep.org or (518) 203-3582 to reschedule their exams.
