)-- Alan S. Nasar, MD, Freehold orthopedic surgeon, is scheduled to present a public lecture “Joint Preservation, The Importance of Physical Activity” on the vital role of adequate exercise in longer joint life Wednesday, March 12th, 11.30am, at the Atlantic Club, Wall, New Jersey. Dr Nasar is one of the team of orthopedic surgeons from the Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute in Freehold, New Jersey, who will present a number of public lectures on joint health in the New Jersey communities of Freehold, Wall and Jackson from this month well into Spring.
The hour long presentation followed by discussion and question time will emphasize the role and importance that physical activity plays in joint preservation and offer tips on becoming more active and how to exercise with arthritis or joint injuries. Over 60% of American adults are not physically active on a regular basis, and another 25% are not active at all. Dr Nasar plans to show the correlation between lack of adequate exercise, certain health risks and the need for more medication, physician visits and hospital care. His tips for lasting joint health will include the type of low impact exercise that benefits arthritic joints, advice on healthy eating habits and complementary medicines and therapies. Arthritis is the most prevalent chronic health problem in the USA today, and the leading cause of disability among Americans over the age of 15.
