College Students Take Part in Poppy Selling

Oswestry, United Kingdom, November 17, 2017 --(PR.com)-- North Shropshire College (NSC) students recently took part in raising money for the Poppy Appeal. The students took to Oswestry Town Centre, at key locations outside the town’s retail establishments, to sell poppies for Remembrance Day on behalf of the Royal British Legion’s Oswestry Branch. This year’s Poppy Appeal hopes to build on the success of last years which raised £146.9 million pounds nationwide for Remembrance and Welfare for those in the Armed Forces Community.

Paul Clarke, Sport Lecturer at NSC, who was involved with organising students to sell poppies comments “We were delighted to support the British Legion in Oswestry this year. It is an excellent opportunity for the students, as well as the College to give something back to the community who support us year round. I hope that it has been a rewarding and fulfilling experience for the students, and I would like to thank them for taking part.”
