Brooklyn, NY, November 29, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Brooklyn Community Services is one of three nonprofit organizations chosen as winners of the prestigious 2017 New York Community Trust Nonprofit Excellence Awards - a program created and managed by the Nonprofit Coordinating Committee of New York (NPCC) - for excellence in nonprofit management. The winning organizations demonstrated excellence in management with innovative and replicable practices, as determined by a 29-member selection committee, following an intensive nine-month long vetting process and 360-degree review of their management practices.

“To serve and empower all members of ONE Brooklyn Community, we strive to set the same high standards and mission-driven goals for running our agency as we do for our direct service work,” said Marla Simpson, President & Executive Director of Brooklyn Community Services. “We’re thrilled to be recognized by Nonprofit Excellence Awards for this effort, and we’re honored to share this recognition with two other wonderful organizations, our fellow winners, Children’s Aid and Gay Men's Health Crisis.”

The 2017 New York Community Trust Nonprofit Excellence Awards Best Practices Workshop & Awards Presentation will be held December 1st at CUNY Graduate Center.
