Ohio Paralegal Elected as Vice President and Director of Profession Development for The National Federation of Paralegal Associations

Indianapolis, IN, December 01, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Inc. (NFPA) congratulates Mindi L. Schaefer, M.S., RP, OSBA, AACP for being elected NFPA’s Vice President and Director of Profession Development for the 2017 – 2019 term. The elections were held at NFPA’s Annual Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 13, 2017.

As Administrative & Paralegal Support Director at Poling, Ms. Schaefer is responsible for the management of the administrative and paralegal support staff which includes recruiting, training, work-flow coordination, productivity management, and continuing legal education. Additionally, she analyzes public relation and promotional strategies for the firm including sponsorship activities, pro bono opportunities, and speaking engagements. She researches print and electronic media options to promote and advertise the firm. In addition, Ms. Schaefer focuses on social media implementation and website content management to maintain fresh and current firm content.

Ms. Schaefer received her Associates Degree in Legal Assisting from Sinclair Community College, Bachelor Degree in Political Science from Wright State University, and Master Degree in Communication and Marketing from Franklin University. She has received a certification from NFPA, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the American Alliance for Paralegals, Inc.

Ms. Schaefer actively participates in the Paralegal Association of Central Ohio ("PACO") and has held numerous leadership roles including President, President-Elect, NFPA Primary, NFPA Secondary, Public Relations Representative, and Mentoring Program Chair. She is also an Adjunct Paralegal Professor with Capital University Law School's Paralegal Program teaching Introduction to Paralegal Studies and Civil Litigation.

Ms. Schaefer is also a continuing legal education presenter with PACO, MyLawCLE, and Institute for Paralegal Education focusing on the areas of case preparation from start to Trial and document management. She has been a featured author with the Columbus Bar Friday Paper (affiliated with The Daily Reporter / Columbus Bar Association), PACO, and National Paralegal Reporter focusing on topics associated to paralegals, PACO, employment, mentoring, and trial preparation. She is also a frequent guest speaker at Columbus State Community College and local area high schools focusing on interviewing, entering the paralegal profession, and the overall paralegal profession in Central Ohio.

The Vice President and Director of Profession Development will assist the President in addressing the future growth and expansion of the profession and the development of NFPA to support these changes. If the President is incapable of functioning, the Vice President and Director of Profession Development will assume the duties of the President.
