Blockchain in Education: Educhain Graduates Dubai Future Accelerators Program to Conduct a Blockchain Pilot in Dubai

Vancouver, Canada, December 22, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Educhain has become the first blockchain company in education to graduate from Dubai Future Accelerators. As a result, a significant pilot project of the Educhain blockchain credentials and academic passport solution will be launched across all levels of education with selected institutions in Dubai early next year. It is a continuation of the startup’s mission to create a global network of trust for seamless exchange of academic credentials – expanding its presence beyond North America and Europe to the Gulf Region.

Educhain was invited by the Dubai Future Accelerators (DFA) out of thousands of applicants to collaborate with the Government of Dubai's regulatory authority for education, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). The collaboration’s focused on developing future ready school communities to be among the best in the world by 2025, facilitated by the DFA program under the Dubai Future Foundation.

After an intensive two months of collaboration and discussion across all levels of education, the program culminated in a signing ceremony with Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, Director General of the KHDA, under the supervision of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.

Educhain’s flagship solution is the first comprehensive digital passport of student achievement, secured by a blockchain network of trust. It revolutionizes the way academic institutions issue credentials - placing ownership of academic records into the hands of students, and providing them with global mobility while eliminating credential fraud.

H.E. Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Accelerators, said, “With education being one of the strategic sectors in the UAE, it was a pleasure to host Educhain as the first blockchain startup with the KHDA, and it is exciting to see such early progress with multiple partnerships signed over the course of the program. We look forward to continued success with implementation of a milestone pilot project in the coming months.”

Mark Balovnev, CEO of Educhain, stated, “We are honored to have received the encouragement of the government to continue exploring blockchain credentials in Dubai and the UAE. Throughout the program we were amazed by the speed at which the government operates and drives innovation. This has been reflected in multiple partnerships with academic institutions across all levels of education, and an agreement to launch a pilot in early 2018.”
