Siesta Tees Launches New Latino Themed Apparel Line

Company Features over Fifty Unique items Sure to Create a Laugh with the Latino Community.

San Antonio, TX, February 29, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Siesta Tees announces today the release of its new Latino themed clothing line. The online shop offers a variety of t-shirt styles, infant one piece, children’s t-shirts, mugs, caps, aprons and many more items stamped with their designs. Latino folklore, beliefs and “abuela's wise thoughts” were mixed together to create the unique designs and slogans. The designs were created to fill a void in the main stream Latino market, which has become a major force in the U.S. market. Fueled by immigration and population growth, Hispanic buying power will reach almost $1.2 trillion by 2011, according to an estimate by the Selig Center for Economic Growth at the University of Georgia in a study released in 2006. The center estimated Hispanic buying power will be just over $860 billion for 2007, an 8 percent increase from 2006. If that estimate proves true, the Hispanic community will top all minority groups for purchasing power, the center said.

“Our first t-shirt was made just for fun, it was our Touch me before you give me OJO, design” explains Greg Sanchez, owner and founder of Siesta Tees. Latino folklore believes that when a person looks admiringly at someone without touching them, it causes the admired person to become ill or in the Latino community known as a case of the Ojo! “We found an online fulfillment company, Cafepress.com, which allowed us to bring our t-shirts to life. We began getting sales from our online store, www.siestatees.com, without any paid advertising and no paid marketing. All our marketing was very basic: forums, blogs and word of mouth. As sales continued to increase, we then knew there was a demand in the market for the type of product we were creating. This is when we knew we had the big idea! Creating a funny, hip, cute Hispanic themed clothing line was a no brainer. We focused strictly on the main stream Latino market. After, much research we found that the Latino population is the fastest growing, but the main stream Latino community was still under served.”

Siesta Tees started with one funny design and now offers more than fifty designs and phrases such as, Stop the violence- hit a piñata, I love abuela, I think the chupacabra is under my bed and Don’t make me use my chancla, all in a variety of colors and sizes. Their online sales shop offers a 30-day return guarantee and a toll free customer service line. “We are in the process of taking our t-shirts from online to retail stores in the near future. We believe the demand is there, and that our slogan will stand true, Creating laughs one tee at a time,” explains Greg.
