Powers Insurance and Risk Management Creates Plant a Tree Program

St. Louis insurance agency to give back to the environment.

St. Louis, MO, January 14, 2018 --(PR.com)-- POWERS Insurance and Risk Management, one of the largest family owned and operated independent insurance agencies in the bi-state region, recently introduced its “Plant a Tree. It’s Good Policy.” program.

The agency, which will plant a sapling for every new client, estimates it will add approximately 400 trees each year. POWERS Insurance and Risk Management also plans to plant a large tree in an urban area in need for every 250 new clients and, for every 1,000 new clients, the company will farm a beehive to help preserve the bee population and protect the community’s agriculture from colony collapse disorder.

POWERS Insurance and Risk Management purchased property along the Meramec River that required assistance with erosion prevention. The company will start with willow trees in the initial phase but later plant several native trees including sycamore, hickory, black walnut, white oak, and maple.

“We embrace carbon neutral efforts throughout our company, and this program complements our mission to have a positive impact on the environment,” said POWERS Insurance President JD Powers. “We think trees represent insurance policies because they both never stop growing, they take root with the intent to stay forever, they adapt to the seasons, and they provide protection over us when needed.”

POWERS Insurance and Risk Management provides personal and business insurance, surety, risk management and employee benefits. The company, which was founded in 1991, is located at 6825 Clayton Ave. For more information, call (314) 725-1414.
