Staff from Footsteps Nursery, Part of North Shropshire College, Take Part in Lifesaving Training

Oswestry, United Kingdom, February 16, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Twelve Nursery Practitioners from Footsteps Nursery in Oswestry have been busy undertaking an important and potentially lifesaving course recently. The staff members, who are also well trained in paediatric first aid, with three also holding an enhanced first aid qualification, have taken part in an intensive seven hours of defibrillator training. The course was designed to show them how a defibrillator works, and how to use the defibrillator unit safely to perform successful CPR using a training dummy to ensure that they are prepared for a real life emergency.

In addition to the training undertaken, Footsteps staff have also raised money over the last few months to buy a defibrillator for the nursery building to ensure that these facilities are readily available if needed.

Lorna Rodgers, Nursery Manager at Footsteps comments, “This has been an excellent opportunity and a really worthwhile opportunity for the Nursery Practitioners to develop their first aid and CPR skills. The training course was well received by everyone involved and the new defibrillator has been a vital improvement to the already outstanding facilities we offer at Footsteps Oswestry.”
