Experienced Healthcare Leader and Pediatrician Joins Mary’s Center Board

Dr. Jim Rost is committed to quality care and patient safety.

Washington, DC, February 22, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Mary’s Center is proud to announce the appointment of a veteran healthcare leader and medical provider to its Board of Directors. Jim Rost, MD, brings a wealth of management and clinical experience to the board and will enable the Center to advance its mission of building better futures through the delivery of health care, education, and social services.

Dr. Rost is currently the Chief Medical Officer of Adventist HealthCare Washington Adventist Hospital. A neonatologist and pediatrician, he has served on the medical staff of both Washington Adventist Hospital and Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center for 20 years.

“Dr. Rost has the experience, energy and commitment that Mary’s Center needs to build on the accomplishments over the last 30 years,” says Maria Gomez, President and CEO of the Center. “Along with the rest of our board, his guidance will help us to have an even greater impact on the lives of families in the region.”

Throughout his career, Dr. Rost has used his knowledge, experience and accomplishments to provide the highest quality of care and improve systems for patients and hospitals. He is highly regarded for his commitment to patient safety and quality care and has served as medical director of Quality and Patient Safety at Shady Grove Medical Center for the past 10 years. In addition, he has been the medical director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) since 2010. Dr. Rost is also active with the Maryland Patient Safety Center and is presently chair of the Board of Governors.

Dr. Rost holds a medical degree from Brown University Medical School. He completed his pediatric residency and neonatology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.

The Mary’s Center Board is composed of 13 members, 51% of whom are patients of the Center.
