Australians’ thirst for diversity has driven the company’s expansion to become 2nd biggest online retailer.

Just Wines, the Australian online wine retailer has doubled its product offering in 12 months, taking its range to 6,000 wines - from 250 boutique wineries and over 750 brand name wineries (small, medium and large) - across Australia and New Zealand.

Since launching in 2012, Just Wines has grown to become the second largest online wine retailer in Australia, and now serves a customer base of 70,000. The sales have also increased from 100 bottles of wine to 150,000 per month over this time.

CEO and founder of Just Wines, Nitesh Bhatia believes the strong growth of the company is a result of applying grass roots e-commerce principals to big business – that all began with eBay. Bhatia began his entrepreneurial career selling excess cushion cover stock from his family’s furniture business on eBay at the age of 18 to make extra money while he attended university.

Bhatia said, “The success of Just Wines can be attributed to the same principles that were instilled in me through my family’s business and reinforced by eBay. The eBay customer satisfaction and review features meant that customer satisfaction was always at the forefront of everything. Australians want new experiences
Bhatia also attributes the success of Just Wines to a diverse product range that appeals to a curious and experimental Australian wine drinking culture. “Unlike any other Australian wine clubs, members of our Trophy Club are guaranteed never to receive the same wine twice unless otherwise requested. Other wine clubs offer the same products month after month, year after year,” he said.

“In four years, we have discovered two things about the Australian wine buying public: they like trying new things and continuing their wine education; and they like to support boutique local wineries.”

With headquarters, warehouses and customer service personnel in Sydney and another warehouse in Perth, Just Wines serves customers located across Australia with a wine selection from wine suppliers across Australia and New Zealand.

The company was recently named in the Power Retail Top 150 Retailers list for 2018, and has plans for further expansion, with more announcements due next financial quarter.
