Australia’s Next Top Lawyer Competition Launched

National personal injury company launches new award for law students with a $5000 cash prize.

Sydney, Australia, March 14, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Australia’s Next Top Lawyer is a competition is aimed at undergraduate law students. The company says they have set aside a top prize of $5000 as well as couple undisclosed runner-up prizes. To be in with a chance of becoming the next top lawyer students are required to submit a 3000-word essay based on the most important development in Australia’s legal history.

The compensation company believe the legal sector is becoming more and more competitive due to automation so they raised the bar in an effort to help the country’s young talent.

Liam Millner, Managing director at Australian Accident Helpline, says the lack of young people working in the legal sector is concerning.

“It is worrying that there could be a shortage of good lawyers in the future. An experienced lawyer can be the difference between life or death in some countries, the innocent ending up in jail, or big businesses walking over the little guys.”

Law firms worldwide are adopting technology and downsizing their workforce which inevitably will decrease the opportunities for law graduates to enter the profession.

Millner says, “In the short term, practices will become more profitable, but it’s simply not sustainable in the long run.”

Australian Accident Helpline promotes itself as an investor in young people and a champion for victims of no-fault accidents and firmly believe this competition will provide an opportunity for undergraduates to set themselves apart from future colleagues early on.

All essays will be judged by the companies panel of senior personal injury lawyers, and the results will be announced at the end of October 2018.

So who will be Australia’s Next Top Lawyer?
This is a wonderful initiative by Australian Accident Helpline which will surely encourage students to challenge themselves as well as highlight the hurdles they may face in the future. The winning applicant could use the $5000 prize money to fund further studies.
