iCare Home Health Wins Oakville Awards for Business Excellence

iCare Home Health granted award for Small Business of the Year.

Oakville, Canada, April 16, 2018 --(PR.com)-- iCare Home Health is proud to announce that they’ve won the Oakville Awards’ Small Business of the Year award for 2018. iCare Home Health was among 15 finalists for the prestigious award.

“We’re very proud to have won the Small Business of the Year award,” said Rick Menassa, President of iCare Home Health. “At iCare, we’re committed to service excellence in providing our clients with reliable, professional, and compassionate at-home care services. We’re dedicated to helping our clients remain independent, whether they choose to age in place or move to a retirement facility. Our creative and innovative approach enables our clients to have a healthy and active aging lifestyle. We take pride in being able to offer our clients quality services that enhance their mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.”

The Oakville Awards for Business Excellence judging committee considered multiple areas to determine the winner, including: the company’s record of customer satisfaction, community involvement, financial soundness, growth strategies, employee engagement and retention, and social media presence, among other factors. iCare Home Health ultimately impressed the judges and won the Small Business of the Year award for their creative business solutions and innovative approach to caretaking.

iCare Home Health has been helping clients of all ages manage their health from home since 2012. The company is dedicated to making a difference in their community and improving the lives of people in need of care. Their expert home support services empower clients to take control of their wellbeing and avoid elderly isolation. Their services also support clients as they manage their prescribed medications, diets, lifestyle routines, so they can maintain and improve their health. iCare Home Health is passionate about providing the best home health care services and client advocacy possible.

iCare Home Health Goes Beyond Basic Physical Care

“We strive to go above and beyond for our clients and the community,” said Menassa. "Outside our regular services, we also created a SaaS for our clients, called Health Expresso, to help them track their medication adherence and body vitals to prevent a critical health event. We decided to create the app to better serve our clients with remote monitoring, and give family members the peace-of-mind to be able to monitor their loved one’s health. Health Espresso is currently piloted as part of a research project in collaboration with The Sheridan Centre for Elder Research."

iCare Home Health is also launching a pilot program at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, in collaboration with The Sheridan Centre for Elder Research. Launching in spring 2018, the pilot program will be an extension of iCare Home Health’s Expressive Art Program for patients recovering from stroke. The program will be led by iCare Home Health’s Artist in Residence and the lead researcher at The Sheridan Centre for Elder Research.

“Our Expressive Art Program allows us to leverage art as a way for our clients to express their emotions and what they want to say. It helps people who are verbally limited due to a critical health event, and people struggling with loss or grief,” said Menassa. “The Sheridan Centre for Elder Research was working on a research program to explore the benefits of art for the elderly, and we decided to collaborate with them. Sheridan’s program will integrate iCare’s Expressive Art Program as a tool for their research at the Oakville hospital.”

The innovative way iCare Home Health approaches health and aging showcases their business excellence and commitment to positively impacting the community.

“While our services also include the basic upkeep of housing, hygiene, and meal preparation, we strive to surpass the basic expectations of a caretaking service. We consider our clients’ health and wellbeing from a holistic perspective,” said Menassa. “At iCare, it’s not enough for us to ensure that our clients are simply taking their medication. We aim to help improve their overall quality of life and happiness by giving them the ability to continue their lifestyle.”
