TechFlow, Inc. Teams with Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory & California Energy Commission to Support Marine Corps Energy and Mobility

Company will tap into extensive experience to deliver technical coordination and subject matter expertise to the project.

San Diego, CA, April 26, 2018 --( TechFlow Incorporated, a highly innovative services and solutions company, today announced it has been selected to provide Technical Coordination and Subject Matter Expertise for an advanced Vehicle to Microgrid demonstration at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.

This project, funded by the California Energy Commission and led by Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory, is being implemented to demonstrate the value and benefit of transitioning a conventional fleet of fossil fuel vehicles to a fleet of Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs). It is also intended to demonstrate the ability of these vehicles to not only meet the military mission of the base but, at the same time, provide Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) energy service to the base’s electrical infrastructure when the vehicles are not in operation but are available at their charging station. This project is an integral part of a new Microgrid being installed on MCAS Miramar, which is part of the DOD’s initiative to demonstrate increased energy resilience at critical national defense facilities.

“This project further represents the application of TechFlow’s deep experience integrating complex technologies in increasingly creative and effective ways. We are proud to employ the foremost experts in Vehicle to Grid implementation here at TechFlow,” said Robert Baum, President and CEO at TechFlow, Inc.

“We are excited to play such an important role in this project, supporting our partners at Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory and the California Energy Commission. Energy Resilience and Mobility are core areas of focus for our DoD clients, and TechFlow is working hard to ensure our capabilities evolve to meet these needs today and in the future,” said Michael Genseal, Vice President of Energy and Mobility Solutions at TechFlow, Inc.
