Spectacular End of Season Success for TNS NSC Scholars

Oswestry, United Kingdom, May 02, 2018 --(PR.com)-- North Shropshire College (NSC) TNS (The New Saints) Professional Phase Football students have added to their already successful season by winning the SSCFA (Shropshire Schools and Colleges FA) under 18’s County Cup, beating rivals and former cup winners, Thomas Telford.

After a slow start to the match, and an early second half penalty being awarded to their rivals, the team found their feet and goals from players Tom Williams and Rob Reynolds ensured a well-deserved 2-1 win, clinching the cup title for the team.

Steve Benyon, Sport Lecturer and TNS Phase Scholarship coach comments, “I am overjoyed with the excellent performances from the players this year. We have managed to achieve four out of our five objectives from this season, including maintaining our Category 1 League status, being promoted into the Category 2 League, winning the Welsh Premier League, Under 19’s Development North League, and now the County Cup.”

Steve adds, “It’s exciting that the scholarship programme is going to continue its strong development in the future, allowing us to accommodate even more high quality players who can excel both on and off the pitch.”

The team have one final match to play against Aberystwyth at Newtown Football Club, Latham Park, on Monday the 7th of May, kicking off at 6.00pm.
