Learn to Create Marriage Blessed by God with Help from New Book by Lance Bell
A new book released by Dog Ear Publishing explores the history of marriage as well as God’s purpose and design for the institution. Its goal is to show how marriage done correctly can leave a Christian legacy for generations.
South Elgin, IL, June 12, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Lance and Lori Bell began leading marriage ministries when they had been married for just six years and God revealed they weren’t handling marriage according to His will and plan. They began studying Christian marriage programs, a foundation that led to Lance writing this new book 20 years later. Dog Ear Publishing has released the book and presented it with the company’s Award of Literary Excellence.
“The Marriage You Do Not Deserve” is designed to shake things up, get under readers’ skin and educate them to the kind of marriage God wants for His children. The book is divided into sections, each with a different focus: the book’s purpose (setting expectations, marriage itself), the soul (defining marriage, polygamy’s affect on marriage, divorce), the mind (opposites attract and specific chapters for husbands and for wives) and the body (physical attraction, flirting and sex). A closing section includes information about the author’s own marriage and love story.
The book explores the concept of grace, a topic that can be found throughout the Bible. “God’s love for His children is manifested by His grace,” Bell writes, “however, God is also just. God will often give us exactly what we deserve, and always what we need.”
Bell also hopes that the book will offend readers – so he can confront them with truths that can sometimes be uncomfortable. He is up front with that hope in the introduction, writing, “I plan to confront you with information that will stick with you, both emotionally and logically. I desire that the concepts you read will become rooted in your heart for a life.”
Bell is president of Christian Leadership Ministries, a nonprofit organization with a goal of showing adults how to be Christ-following spouses, parents and leaders. He and his wife, Lori, have led marriage Sunday school classes, marriage workshops, retreats and couples’ community groups for 20 years. They lead the marriage ministry of Christ Community Church in St. Charles, Ill.
He also leads a men’s Bible study as well as Band of Brothers, a peer group for Christian business owners and executives that he co-founded with Joe Slawek. He was inspired to write this book in 2013 after extensive study and teaching on the subject.
