When community members dedicate themselves to local businesses, those businesses thrive. Spencer Savings Bank’s Branch Manager Marta Alexandre has been appointed as new Board Member of the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce (GWACC), after serving as a member of the organization for the past eight years. Simultaneously, Alexandre will also be the Manager at Spencer's Westfield Financial Center opening in early July.

Westfield, NJ, June 21, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Spencer Savings Bank’s Branch Manager Marta Alexandre has been appointed as new Board Member of the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce (GWACC), after serving as a member of the organization for the past eight years.

The election comes at an exciting time for Alexandre, Spencer Savings Bank, and the Westfield community as a whole. Currently serving as Spencer’s Garwood Branch Manager, Alexandre will soon be relocating, with the entire Garwood staff, to the bank’s new, technologically advanced Financial Center. The Westfield Financial Center will be located in the heart of Westfield in their downtown area, across from the train station, at 240 North Avenue West. Opening in early July, it will showcase the latest banking technology designed to handle more routine transactions and simplify banking - leaving on-site bank representatives free to assist with more complex transactions. The Financial Center will be a unique combo of Banking Center & Loan Production Office. Commercial loan officers will be stationed there to assist with business and commercial loan customer needs.

Celebrating 15 years with Spencer and 24 years total in the banking industry, Alexandre not only works in Union County but is also a longtime resident, giving her a strong sense of what local residents and businesses need. In addition to being part of the GWACC for nearly a decade, Marta has also been a member of the Westfield Rotary Club since 2011, where she also served as Past-President and Chair. She has worked with various organizations that are committed to improving the lives of residents and businesses in the area.

“I’m extremely excited to play a greater role in the GWACC’s initiatives,” Alexandre said. “Thanks in large part to the time, energy and resources the Chamber pours into the community, Westfield businesses can continue to grow and thrive, while proudly serving local residents and families. And with Spencer bringing its new banking concept to Westfield, there is even more to look forward to.”

Alexandre was one of four members elected for a two-year term of office, and will join her first meeting as a board member on July 10, 2018. The other newly elected members are Ron Bansky, Paul Mecca and Matthew Pejkovic. “These new Board members bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to our Board and they will have a positive effect on the Chamber,” said GWACC President Maria Fuentes. Spencer congratulates all members on their recent appointments.
