Enhancing the Coordination of Connected Health IT for Military & Government DSI’s DoD/VA & Gov Health IT Summit
Defense Strategies Institute (DSI) is pleased to announce the 15th DoD/VA & Gov Health IT Summit, occurring on October 10 & 11, 2018, and the Mary M Gates Learning Center in Alexandria, Virginia.
Alexandria, VA, August 10, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Held since 2011, DSI’s Health IT Summits are designed as a unique forum that allows for personnel from DoD, VA, Federal and State agencies to convene in one location along with leaders from Industry and Academia that support them in order to advance the federal healthcare enterprise. This Fall's summit, occurring on October 10 & 11, 2018, will focus on enhancing the coordination of connected health IT and the efforts to deliver a modern healthcare system that enables rapid decision-making and innovation. Speakers will lead sessions of open & collaborative dialogue, discussing the opportunities and challenges associated with shaping the future of health & healthcare delivery for the MHS.
Participants at this summit will develop, share, and deliberate on the current and future efforts aimed at delivering an integrated health care system that enhances force readiness, improves health outcomes and delivery of care, and lowers the overall cost of delivering high-quality healthcare.
At the DoD/VA and Gov. HIT Summit, attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from and network with the relevant senior leaders and stakeholders tasked with making this vision a reality.
October’s summit will convene for 2 interactive days, filled with numerous senior-led sessions to Include:

- Leading DHA Acquisition Initiatives to Ensure a Medically Ready Force
Speaker: John Tenaglia, Component Acquisition Executive (CAE), Head of Contracting Action (HCA), DHA
- Developing and Adopting Efficient Standards to Support Veterans and the VA
Speaker: Ken Rubin, Director of Standards and Interoperability, VHA Office of Knowledge Based Systems, VA
- Providing Standards that Empower Global Health Data Interoperability
Speaker: Charles Jaffe, MD, Ph.D., CEO, HL7
