Over 200 Business Advisors Gather in Denver to Help Small-Business Owners Exit Their Businesses

Advisors respond to baby boomers’ demands for exit-planning services.

Denver, CO, August 19, 2018 --(PR.com)-- More than 200 business advisors will descend upon Denver August 22–24 for Business Enterprise Institute (BEI)’s 15th-annual National Conference at the Four Seasons Hotel Denver, where they’ll share strategies that have helped small-business owners exit their businesses successfully.

According to the Washington Post, a record number of small businesses, 7,842, were sold in 2016, with 70 percent of brokers saying that at least a quarter of their sales were related to baby boomers. A BEI business-owner survey showed that 79 percent of business owners, most aged 40–69, plan on exiting their businesses within the next 10 years, but only 17 percent have written exit plans.

Per the most recent census data, nearly 1 million Coloradans are baby boomers. Colorado ranks No. 1 for highest rate of businesses owned by baby boomers. The networking and experience-sharing opportunities fostered by the National Conference allow business advisors to serve the vastly expanding market of baby boomers looking for the best path to exiting their businesses.

In conjunction with the National Conference, BEI will host its nationally renowned Boot Camp Experience, which introduces advisors to the fundamentals of exit planning in preparation for providing exit-planning services to business owners.

“We find that owners are increasingly interested in learning more about exit planning,” said BEI’s founder, John Brown. “The number of owners requesting information from BEI to plan for their own exits has greatly increased, and average attendance at our business-owner seminars and workshops has doubled.”

BEI's mission is to help business owners benefit from their lives’ work. BEI is the leading innovator in the exit-planning industry, and trains and supports business advisors to be the preeminent exit-planning resource for business owners in their communities.
