Operation Food Search Partners with Volunteer Management Software Company

St. Louis non-profit agency is the area's first organization to utilize Community Connect program.

St. Louis, MO, August 25, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Operation Food Search (OFS), a non-profit hunger relief organization, recently began working with Galaxy Digital, a mobile-friendly volunteer management software company based in Asheville, NC.

OFS is St. Louis’ first non-profit agency to use the company’s Community Connect program, which matches volunteers with the most relevant service opportunities within the organization. Galaxy Digital’s program offers easy-to-use volunteer scheduling and management, as well as promotes ongoing engagement and communication in order to elevate brand awareness within the community.

Founded in 2009, Galaxy Digital provides an affordable program that promotes, manages, engages and reports a nonprofit organization’s volunteerism and community impact. The company – which unites people, organizations and resources – creates community engagement software for non-profit agencies, colleges, universities, volunteer centers, businesses, and corporations.

“This very interactive software program allows us to get connected and stay connected with our volunteers,” said Sunny Schaefer, Executive Director at Operation Food Search. “We heavily rely on our more than 7,500 volunteers who donate over 22,000 hours each year, and this software will enable us to reach out and engage our volunteer base as efficiently as possible.”

Founded in 1981, Operation Food Search (OFS) is a hunger relief organization that provides food and nutrition education. With a strategic focus aimed at ending childhood hunger, OFS empowers families with a range of programs and services proven to reduce food insecurity and increase access to healthy and affordable food. The agency helps feed more than 200,000 individuals on a monthly basis – one-third of which are children – through a network of 330 community partners in 31 Missouri and Illinois counties.
